Springtime – Warm Weather Activities

Rejoice! Spring is here and summer is just around the corner. After an unfairly long winter, the UK has finally started to brighten up, this week saw temperatures soar to 21 degrees in some parts! So the sunglasses and sandals are out and the coats and woolly hats are firmly ensconced at the back of the closet. This blog is a little run down of our best ‘outdoor’ recommendations from the past six months of articles. At last we have the weather to actually try some of them out.

What better way to celebrate the UK sunshine than with a classic 99 Flake?

Two early Blog post we made last summer proved popular. ‘Castles’ and ‘English Gardens’ are great days out when the Sun appears. Check out our rundowns on the top ten of each here & here. You can also use our ‘around me’ function to find the nearest Castles and Gardens near to where you live.

(Learn much more about our ‘Around Me’ function as well as other user guides for the site)

Some of the suggestions we have had from people for great stuff to do with a sunny day include fishing, cycling, parks and gardens, wetland centres and boat hire and seaside visits.

You Punt!

Boating suggestions include renting a pedalo on the Serpentine at Hyde Park and some very English Punting in Oxford or Cambridge, the UKs equivalent to the Venetian Gondola. You can find boat hire near you here.
